WHY PARTICIPATE IN QUARTERLY MEETING?
Together we can do much more than on our own to foster the vitality of Quaker life, in each other and in our meetings, and the world.
Quarterly Meetings, (aka Area Meetings in UK) were established by George Fox as part of the original infrastructure of the Religious Society of Friends, creating a sustainable framework for adjacent Monthly Meetings to provide mutual aid, pool resources, share knowledge, and problem solve larger issues than were possible for a single meeting.
Participating in Quaker life, by visiting with friends across the Quarter is as much a spiritual practice as it is a social experience, allowing us to see how Spirit moves in each community.
Inter-visitation is one of the oldest and most rewarding practices of the Religious Society of Friends.
It allows for deeper understanding and cooperation between Quakers.
