We continue to debate the role of atomic weapons in the life of our countries. We wage war to stop others from having nuclear bombs and cancel treaties that limit them. Perhaps it would be useful to reread the story of Sadako and the Thousand Cranes to help us recenter on seeking a reverence for all life that precludes the use and threat of nuclear annihilation. A wise man said " The children shall lead us."
